Bafana Bafana have confirmed their place at the 2026 Africa Cup of Nations after a thrilling 3-1 victory over Nigeria at a sold-out FNB Stadium in Johannesburg.

Over 90,000 fans packed the iconic venue, creating an electric atmosphere that inspired the home side to one of their best performances in recent memory.

Percy Tau opened the scoring in the 23rd minute with a brilliant solo effort, weaving past three defenders before slotting the ball past the goalkeeper. Nigeria equalized before halftime, but second-half goals from Themba Zwane and Itumeleng Khune sealed a famous victory.

Coach Hugo Broos praised his team’s spirit and tactical discipline. “This team has heart. The fans were incredible tonight, and I’m proud of every player who wore the shirt,” he said.
